Capcom has confirmed that Rise of the Monster Hunter will officially arrive on consoles other than the Nintendo Switch in preparation on January 20, 2023. His main expansion, Sunrise, will soon follow.

It was first released for the Nintendo Switch in March 2021, followed by a PC version in January 2022. Since then, over 11 million units have been sold worldwide, and as of August 2022, Sunrise has sold approximately 4 million copies.

The current generation console version will be a full “4K60” port with “3D audio” support, the standard edition will be available for $39.99 / AU$59.95 and the Digital Deluxe Edition for $49.99 USD / AU$75.95.

In a GamesHub review of Rise of the Monster Hunter for PC, reviewer Percy Ranson called it “a fun, well-crafted game with some compelling innovations that make it a great addition to the Monster Hunter series.”

GameHub’s review of Monster Hunter Rise: Dawn of the Sun was more positive, with Ranson calling it “phenomenal” and saying “the unique ideas it exudes, Rise of the Monster Hunter.”

Also coming out is a new mobile version of Monster Hunter, in which Capcom will team up with veteran mobile game developers TiMi Studio Group, known in particular for their work on Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokemon Unite. Although the details have yet to be revealed, it will be a versatile mobile game that will appeal to both new and returning players.

Rise of the Monster Hunter will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4 on January 20, 2023 in Maine. It will also be included as a Day 1 release through Game Pass for Xbox and PC. Sunrise will reportedly be available in Spring 2023 (Northern Hemisphere).
