Banksy’s work is being sold as NFT

Artist Banksy has just teamed up with LCD-Lab to sell 1,000 pieces of art using NFTs.

While the NFT market has been going through more than difficult times in recent months, certain projects are starting to appear with the goal of restarting the entire technology. In a very innovative project, the mysterious street artist Banksy arrives in the world of Internet 3.0.

Someone already at the forefront of artistic creation in Bethlehem, opposite the wall between the West Bank and Israel, will go further with this project. In addition to the Walled Off Hotel, Banksy and his team have designed entirely new works of art. The artist worked on several themes, making each piece completely unique.

All of them are enclosed in a white box 25.5 cm high and 25.5 cm wide with a print on paper and a piece of concrete inside. The entire collection has been verified and certified by Jean-Marc Sciall, an independent expert and established artist working for Blanchet et Associés among others.

But the real revolution with this new collection lies in how they will be marketed. These works of art will indeed be available at a later date. Before that, you will need to buy an NFT on the Magic Eden platform.

NFT vs Banksy

Traded in SOL (cryptocurrency) for the equivalent of $1,000 per day of sale, these NFTs will be the gateway to physical labor. As explained in the press release accompanying the announcement, NFT Banksy Radar Rats can be “burnt” by the owner. After the “burn” action is completed, it will be possible to enter a delivery address and thus receive one of 1,000 Banksy artworks.

For Baptiste Ozenn, LCD Lab co-founder, gallery owner and Banksy collector, this new project “democratizes access to established works with solid ratings. This is not the first time that NFTs have taken an interest in the art market as they are a very popular source of authentication for buyers and artists. But this is the first time that Web 3.0 will allow the purchase of art from a well-known artist like Banksy.

The sale organized by LCD-Lab will start on September 17th. Until then, you can already whitelist to participate in the raid and hope to buy one of the 1000 NFTs.
