However, anyone can press the button. This opens up the risk of the driver playing games while driving. an owner of the Model 3 reported this option to the US authorities, who took up the matter. NHTSA, Equivalent to Highway Safety, is investigating this potential hazard. According to Reuters, the US agency confirmed that “distraction accidents are a problem, especially vehicles equipped with […] entertainment screens ”.

Tesla autopilot already under surveillance
