What if Kiki’s Delivery Service was a video game…

I’ve often dreamed about new episodes of some of my favorite Studio Ghibli animated films. Moreover, there are enough elements to prolong the pleasure. Kiki La Petite Sorcière, for example, is an adaptation of a series of novels of the same name by Eiko Kadono (six volumes are available in French from Ynnis Éditions). Unfortunately, it’s not in the genes of a small Japanese company to multiply sequels like Mickey’s house does.

I also often dreamed of seeing Kiki again in an alternative and entertaining video game adventure that would offer to discover and explore a city that would focus on developing the friendship between Kiki and her comrades.

This is probably also one of @cloudtrumpet’s big dreams. The young artist posted cute interface models on his twitter account.

In the early 2000s, if the video game Kiki’s Delivery Service were to see the light of day, it was this kind of offer that would entice players and fans of Miyazaki’s film to buy a cartridge of the game.

And according to our friend, this is exactly what a video game quest in the Arrietty: The Little World of Pilferers universe would give. Damn cute.

Howl’s Moving Castle also inspired @cloudtrumpet. He even created a short animated sequence accompanied by original music composed by Joe Hisaishi.
